Outtest vs Statsig
Statsig and Outtest both run split tests, but they start from different places. Statsig gives engineers feature flags, SDKs and a deep stats engine. Your team decides what to test, builds each version in code or in the visual editor, logs the events that matter, and reads the results.
Outtest hands that loop to AI agents. They read your analytics and payment data, find the page where you lose the most money, write the new version, run the test and call the winner on revenue per visitor from your payment tool. It's built for marketing surfaces like landing pages, pricing pages, trials, cancel flows, Meta ads and SEO, and it's priced by tests a month from $29. Outtest is new. Statsig names OpenAI, Microsoft and Notion among its customers.

Pick Statsig if
- Your engineers want feature flags, gradual rollouts and kill switches alongside experiments.
- You run product experiments inside a logged-in app, on the server or in mobile apps.
- You want sequential testing, SPRT, a Bayesian mode and CUPED, and you have someone to read the results.
- Your metrics already live in a data warehouse and you can buy Enterprise for warehouse native analysis.
- You want product analytics and session replay in the same tool as your flags.
Pick Outtest if
- You want tests found, built, run and called for you, without engineers writing flag code.
- You want every test judged on revenue per visitor pulled from Stripe, Paddle, Shopify or another payment tool you already use.
- Your tests are on marketing surfaces such as landing pages, pricing pages, trial length, cancel flows, Meta ad copy or SEO page groups.
- You'd rather pay a flat price per test ($29 a month for 3 tests) than per event.
The verdict
Pick Statsig if engineers own experimentation and you want flags, product experiments and analytics in one platform with serious stats. Pick Outtest if you want AI agents to run revenue-judged tests on your marketing and pricing pages without an engineering queue. Some teams will use both, Statsig inside the product and Outtest on the pages that sell it. Either way, watch Statsig's roadmap now that Amplitude owns it.
Questions people ask
Is Statsig owned by OpenAI or Amplitude?+
Amplitude, as of May 5, 2026. OpenAI announced it was acquiring Statsig for $1.1B in stock on September 2, 2025. Amplitude then took on Statsig's brand, customers and platform, and the original Statsig team stayed at OpenAI. Amplitude says it will keep maintaining and developing Statsig, including warehouse deployments.
How much does Statsig cost?+
The Developer plan is free up to 2M metered events a month. Pro is $150 a month with 5M events included, then $0.05 per 1,000 events. Enterprise, which includes warehouse native deployment, is custom. Flag and config checks are unlimited on every plan.
Does Statsig have a visual editor?+
Yes. Its visual editor, also called Sidecar, is a point-and-click tool for changing text, styles and calls to action, injecting scripts and setting up redirects on a live website. Statsig measures the results with the same stats engine it uses for coded experiments.
Can Statsig measure revenue from Stripe?+
Not through a native Stripe connector. You can log purchase events from your code, import metrics from a data warehouse, or use the RevenueCat integration, which sends subscription and revenue events by webhook. Outtest reads revenue from Stripe and other payment tools directly and judges every test on revenue per visitor.
Is Statsig Bayesian or frequentist?+
Both. Frequentist analysis with sequential testing is the default. You can switch to SPRT or to a Bayesian mode that reports chance to beat control and expected loss, and Pro adds CUPED variance reduction.
